What can we do to improve the environment?
What we can do, first of all, to save the environment is to change our daily routine,a little bit. Take less baths; take more showers. Make sure that you turn off the tap water, when you are brushing your teeth or, when you’re cleaning the dishes. Make sure that you don’t use too much. You should turn off the light. You can also take public transportation. Instead of taking a vehicle, because with public transportation everyone is polluting together, rather than polluting apart. You can ride your bicycle. I think that its all about every little act every day. A small act everyday. That will help. And I think that if we all do that and participate in a certain way. We can gradually help the environment to change. But, it is also about education. The individual’s role is to make little acts and changes in their routines. But the government’s role is to educate its people, so that they know what to do.

Whatdo you think are the characteristics of a good parent?
I think that the characteristics of a good parent are firstly emotional availability. When your parent is emotionally available for you, which means that you trust them with your secrets, your doubts, your fears andyour dreams. I do that with my mother a lot. She is very important in my life. I tell her everything. I could ask her advice for anything. I trust her. Trust is something very important too. You need to be able to trust your parent, and for your parent to trust you. And lastly, when you got too far and they knowyou’ve done something bad, even though you can’t understand it at that time, that they are not afraid to punish you or have a firm hand with you. Not letting you completely roam free without knowing what you’re going to do.

She has my best interest at heart
When getting advice, some people prefer to go to their parents; others prefer to go to their friends. Which one do you prefer?
When I need advice I usually prefer to go to my parents, specifically, I go to my mom. Although my friends can sometimes offer good advice too, my mom would always know how to help me through a situation. She has a lot of life experience because she’s older and she’s already experienced a lot of the problems that I’m experiencing now. For example, she knows more about things such as finances or taxes, that I have no experience in. And, because she’s my mom, I can always trust that she has my best interests at heart, and basically I know that my mom will always try to give me the best advice possible, and that’s not always a guarantee if you’re talking to someone you just met

When taking a trip, do you take lots of pictures?
When I travel, as I said before, the most important thing for me isto get an understanding of the country, rather than going to the touristattractions. I mean, the tourist attractions are usually the last thing I do.It’s usually the place where you take pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower orin front of Le Louvre. But, I always try to keep some form of trail of what Ido. So that, when I look back at it, I remember. Yes, I do tend to takepictures. It’s a nice way to remember the people that you met there. The timesyou had. The fun you had. For example, I just came back from China and Iuploaded my pictures the other day. Looking at them made me, at the same time, quite sad because I wasn’t there anymore, but happy because it brought back alot of good memories. So, yes, I do try and take pictures

Describe a person that you want to learn more about?
Rather than anyone famous, if I were to pick a person to learn more about, it would actually be my own grandmother. As I have gotten older, I’ve realized that people older than me are actually an amazing resource because they’ve experienced first-hand lots of different things, and they have a lot of different interesting stories that they can share with me. So in the case of my grandmother, I actually went to visit her recently and I found out we have a lot of common interests that I had never actually known about before. For example, she used to be a nurse, so she has an interest lately in healthy vegan cooking. And that was something I had never known that she actually had a lot of knowledge about. So I think that if I were to visit her again, I could learn even more interesting things about her that I don’t know right now.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement that young people know more about the global events than their parents did before?
I agree with the statement that young people today know more about global events than their parents did before. I think the reason for this is mostly because of the internet. Nowadays, nearly everyone has access to the internet, via their computer or their smartphone, and it’s really easy to keep up with news and events from all around the world. So young people are constantly checking social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And the great thing about those is that people now can easily see recent world headlines without really much effort at all. So I think because of that, young people today have much more exposure to global information than our parents did.

Describe your study habits that are different from others'?
For better or for worse, I have learned that I am the type of person to do all my work all at once, rather than gradually doing something a little bit at a time. For example, if I have a major paper or an assignment to do, the best way for me to finish it is just to sit down and finish the entire thing. So in order to focus while I do my work, I also need to listen to music. And I am not the type of person who can study in a quiet library; I need to have some noise to keep me from getting bored. So usually I’ll pick something, like just one good song that motivates me, and I’ll listen to that song on repeat until the assignment is finished. Other students might find that annoying while they study, but to me, it helps me focus and keeps me from getting distracted.
